About Us
History of our creation
Hey there! I’m Sierra Madison Blake, the voice behind Interior Designing Blog . I’ve always had a soft spot for colors—the way they can shift a room’s mood or make a space feel like home. This blog is my way of sharing that love with you.

It Started With a Paintbrush
I grew up in Oakland, California, where color is everywhere—vibrant murals, bold homes, and sunsets that look like paintings. But the moment I really fell in love with color? That happened in my childhood bedroom. One day, my mom let me pick the paint color for my own room. I chose a soft sky blue because it reminded me of beach days—calm, happy, and bright. When the paint dried, it felt like my little world. That moment stuck with me. I realized color could change how a space feels, and from then on, I was hooked.
A Neighborhood That Shaped Me
Oakland has this incredible energy—creative, bold, and full of soul. Walking through my neighborhood, I’d imagine new paint colors for buildings or picture how a warm yellow could make a wall feel more welcoming. I started noticing the vibe of colors. How soft greens feel restful. How warm tones feel like a hug. That curiosity turned into a passion. I kept learning, experimenting, and helping friends and family find colors that felt right for their homes.
Where I Find Inspiration
One thing that fuels my creativity? Travel. Every time I visit a new place, I notice the palette. The whitewashed walls of Greece. The rich clay tones of Arizona’s deserts. Even a tiny café in a quiet town can give me an idea. When I come home, I try to capture those feelings in my work. I ask myself, “How can I recreate this mood in a space?” That’s the fun part—using color to make a room feel like a memory or a dream.

Why I Started This Blog
Picking paint can be hard—I’ve been that person standing in front of a wall of swatches, completely overwhelmed. I started this blog because I wanted to make choosing paint colors feel simple, not stressful.
Here, you’ll find honest tips, beginner-friendly advice, and inspiration from real-life spaces. My goal is to help you feel more confident (and way less confused) when it’s time to make color choices.
Think of me as your friendly color guide—here to help you find paint that feels just right.
My Favorite Color Combos Right Now
Lately, I’ve been loving warm, cozy combos that make a space feel calm and inviting. One of my go-to palettes is Shoji White + Accessible Beige + Urbane Bronze — it’s soft, modern, and works great in living rooms.
For something a little brighter, Alabaster + Evergreen Fog gives off those fresh, earthy vibes that feel just right in kitchens or entryways.
I’m also into mixing greige tones with natural greens for a relaxed, nature-inspired look. These color combos are perfect if you’re going for that clean, cozy style that feels both timeless and fresh. I’ll keep updating this section with new favs, so check back anytime you need a little color inspo!
