Redecorating the Living Room on a Budget

For most families, the living room is a place to relax and play after a long day. If you have been looking for a way to rejuvenate your living space without spending more than necessary, then here are some nice solutions that can take your ho-hum living room to a space you really love to be in.

Accessories

The accessories in your living room are just as important as the main pieces, such as the sofa, armchairs and tables. If you have chosen a color theme that is neutral, then you will easily be able to pick up a large painting or an area rug that will transform the look of your room in seconds. If you have a living room with a very specific color scheme, then you may also want to consider using contrasting colors for a bright new color scheme.

It is also simple and easy to reduce the accessories for a clean, sleek new space that you can enjoy without clutter. For a sleek look, all you need is one to two large accessories, such a painting and a rug, or one grouping of similar items. One easy grouping is to find glass jars, such as antique milk jugs, at a local secondhand shop, and fill them with interesting pebbles or flowers. The grouping should be the centerpiece for an uncluttered look.

Color

Another simple way to dramatically change the look of your living room is to repaint. Although considerably more effort will be needed, nothing can spruce up your living room better than a new paint job. For a modern look, choose all white walls with splashes of color in your accessories.
