I’ll show you how to prepare and how easy laminate flooring installation is.

Preparing your room for laminate flooring:

  • Measure the room so that you know how much laminate flooring you need to buy, include the cut out areas also, i mean to say you need to know the total area of your room.
  • Go to the market or any online shop and purchase the flooring, I’ll suggest to buy a bit extra for future use or in case of any mistake done during installation.
  • Open the roll and spread it on the floor, let it be like this for two to three days, this will allow it to settle down and avoid future buckling of the flooring.
  • Clear your room and floor thoroughly with a brush, i would suggest to wash every bit of dust before you start installing.
  • Now you just look how the flooring looks before final installation, mark the cut out areas and gently cut those areas on the flooring. Lastly takke all the instruments that you need like measuring tape, crowbar, spacers, miter saw, jigsaw, right angle square, tapping block and caulking compound.
  • Installing Laminate Flooring:

  • Prepare the floor base by placing some moisture preventing foam like material which is also called the sub-floor, minutely remove all the wrinkles and take care that the foams doesn’t overlap each other. You can also place different pieces of foams using a tape.
  • Laminate flooring are somewhat floating floor i.e. there is no direct contact with the house. So, keeping this in mind keep a 1/4 inch clearance at each wall. Use spacer on the wall you start so that you can pull it off after finishing the installation.
  • Start laying the boards from most prominent walls, thereby attach the next board according to your manufacturer’s manual, attach them very carefully don’t damage its tongue use rubber mallet for extra protection.
  • Go on adding next boards until you reach the end of the row, cut the board if its extra and use this extra piece to start the next row.
  • Start the next row adjacent to your starting position, and continue this process until you’ve covered the whole floor.
  • Look for any gap or spaces in between the boards and the walls, and fill them with some caulking compound matching with the colour of the flooring. Finally your laminate flooring installation is complete, enjoy it!!!
