A Master Bedroom is your personal space, an extension of your bedtime spent in your regular bedrooms. Since you’re going to spend a lot of time in there and do various activities it’s important that your master bedroom is well planned and accordingly equipped.

Since you’re spending long hours inside four walls, you would want to make it as pleasant and natural as possible. Large windows with a good view or a balcony would bring in the essential fresh air and would cut down on the need to go outside. If you don’t have a great view, you can hang climbing plants outside the window which would give the refreshing green look. Another option is indoor plants that can be decorated with stringed lights or highlighted with spotlight lighting.

Different kinds of lighting would be required for the many activities in the room. Lamp shades and walled lamps can be used for night-time reading. You can add a study lamp to your table. The dressing table can be equipped with lights which can switch from daylight, evening and natural light. Use mood lighting for your pleasant evenings and romantic encounters in the bedroom.

Pamper yourself with all your favorite electronics – whether it’s the big screen plasma TV or a hip stereo system. The seating in your room is going to be for personal use and you don’t need to bother about an extensive arrangement. You can keep a bean bag or the Barcalounger of your dreams or even a luxurious hammock in which you can dose off imagining the sea breeze caressing your hair.

Add the sense of smell by placing potpourri or scented candles and you will carry the scent around when you leave your room. Except that you would never want to leave!
